Elevate Hennepin Talent

Elevate Hennepin Talent empowers companies with no-cost consulting, data-informed tactics, and strategies to solve talent challenges and improve overall business health.

This program is designed to support established regional and midsize companies with custom HR consulting and support to enhance their hiring and retention strategies. Elevate Hennepin Talent is a pilot program and collaboration between Hennepin County’s Workforce Development team and the County’s Economic Development team behind Elevate Hennepin. It is part of continued investment in the Hennepin County business community to ensure the county is an ideal place to start and grow a business.

Hennepin County is investing in this pilot program to support local businesses in addressing their workforce challenges. Long-term, the county has a vested interest in the success and growth of local companies, and in quality job opportunities for county residents.

A strategic plan to solve talent challenges

Over a one-year period, participating companies will explore their workforce challenges, receive one-on-one consulting, data-backed insights, and work with peers to improve their ability to:

• Compete for talent
• Retain talent
• Plan for future workforce needs

Participants who complete the program will walk away with a community of culture-minded peers and a 3- to 5-year strategic plan.

Eligibility

To join Elevate Hennepin Talent, businesses must:

• Be established businesses feeling the talent crunch
• Be located in Hennepin County
• Employ between 10 to 80 people
• Report $1,000,000 or more in annual revenue
• Have a good understanding of company culture with a desire to improve

Participating companies must also have capacity and commitment from leadership to dedicate staff time and focus on these issues over the next year.

More about this program

Elevate Hennepin Talent represents a partnership between Hennepin County's business-support ecosystem, Elevate Hennepin, the Hennepin County Workforce Development Department, and the Workforce Leadership Council (WLC). 

The Workforce Leadership Council (WLC) convened by Hennepin County brings together regional public and private entities, education institutions and non-profit partners with a shared focused on better understanding and meeting the workforce and operations needs of small- to mid-sized businesses.

Applications

Recruitment for the Elevate Hennepin Talent cohort has closed. The program is expected to start in December 2023 and end in November 2024.
