One-Day DWI Program
The One-Day DWI Program is an alternative sanction for clients convicted of a first-time DWI. The program is for clients with DWI cases in Hennepin County.
This program provides a prompt and consistent response to prevent repeat offenses. The programming combines alcohol education, cognitive therapy, self-assessment, and victim-impact panel.
One-Day DWI program facilitated virtually
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation is temporarily facilitating virtual One-Day DWI program classes through our providers to help ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff. At this time, in-person classes are not being offered. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have been ordered to complete the One-Day DWI program, please follow the steps below to register and pay for the class.
Step one: Pay class fee
The One-Day DWI program fee is $135. Once the class fee is paid, you will receive a proof of payment code to give to your class provider.

Step two: Register for the class
You can register for a class offered by our providers by phone. All classes take place on Saturdays. You may want to call both providers to find a class date that works best for you.

Step three: Pay department fee
In addition to the class fee, a department fee may need to be paid.
- Public defender client fee: $0
- Private attorney fee: $250
