Funding for residential properties built prior to 1970 to deconstruct building materials for reuse.
Up to $5,000 available per project (up to $2 per square foot) based on eligible deconstruction expenses for residential full building removal or renovation/remodeling projects.

Property type
Residential property up to 4 units built prior to 1970; project size at least 500 square feet.
Reuse criteria
You are required to deconstruct or reuse materials from the approved materials list (PDF).
- A minimum of five different materials must be deconstructed.
- At least 1,000 pounds of lumber materials must be deconstructed for reuse.
- All non-reusable building material generated from the project must be sent to a recycling facility that achieves a minimum 60% recycling rate. Find construction and demolition recycling facilities.
- Must provide documentation verifying reuse criteria was met to receive grant funds.
Application
- Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until available funds are depleted.
- Deconstruction must take place after the agreement to issue grant funds is established. Grant funding cannot be used for deconstruction work that has already been completed.
