Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program is a federal discount that helps households with lower incomes pay for internet service.
In January 2024, the FCC issued wind down guidance for ACP. Due to lack of funding, FCC is no longer accepting applications for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) as of February 8, 2024.
What this means for residents
- No new applications will be accepted on or after February 8.
- Households that are currently enrolled will receive the ACP benefit for the duration of the program (likely through April 2024). After funds expire, they will no longer receive the discount.
- Internet service providers are required to send notices to ACP enrollees about the benefit ending, the impact on their bill, and that they may change their internet plan if it is not affordable without the subsidy.
Options for residents
Eligible consumers can get up to $9.25 off the cost of phone, internet, or bundled services through another federal program called Lifeline. Learn more about Lifeline and program eligibility.
